I’m back with another edition of Music Mondays, giving you the rundown of the hottest new drops. This week it’s all about albums—so if you’re looking for something fresh to dive into, I got you covered.
Kid Cudi – Free
The man himself, Kid Cudi, just released a brand-new album titled Free. Fans have been waiting for this one, and Cudi delivers exactly what you’d expect—vibes, introspection, and plenty of replay value.
Earl Sweatshirt – Live, A Laugh, Love
Next up, Earl Sweatshirt is back with an album people have been anticipating for a minute: Live, Laugh, Love. If you know Earl, you know to expect raw lyrics and left-field creativity, and this project definitely fits that mold.
Offset – Kiari
One of my personal favorites this week comes from Offset. His new album, Kiari, is his most personal work yet—named after himself, showing a more vulnerable side.
The standout track for me is “Never Let Go”, his heartfelt tribute to Takeoff, featuring the legendary John Legend. It’s a powerful record, but honestly the whole album is fire from start to finish.
Local Artist Spotlight: EazyTheDJ – New Grass
This week’s Local Artist Spotlight shines on EazyTheDJ—someone who’s always been at the heart of the local scene, from throwing some of the best showcases to making sure artists sound their best on stage. But this time, the spotlight is on his own artistry.
His new album, New Grass, has been years in the making. Eazy actually came up with the title and cover art nearly five years ago, but now felt like the perfect moment to finish the project. Why? Because he wanted to usher in a fresh perspective on Kentucky music—especially right here in Lexington.
One of his favorite tracks off the album is “Working on My Feeling.” He says it embodies that moment in life where you’re trying to pull yourself together, and being a DJ actually helped him rediscover his passion for flowing on the mic. This project isn’t about big rollouts or long promo campaigns—it’s about the music, the growth, and the message.
My personal favorite? “Dog House.” This track really stood out to me—it’s full of energy, vibe, and shows a different side of Eazy’s sound.
Eazy is also working on visuals for three tracks off the album with Rago Clan, known for his incredible camera work. He admits that getting over the “what ifs” was the hardest part of this journey, but with New Grass, he’s proving that pushing past doubt can lead to something powerful and inspiring.
Final Word
That’s a wrap for this week’s Music Mondays! Three major albums plus a local legend holding it down—plenty of heat for your playlist.
Quick reminder: there won’t be a Music Monday next week because of the holiday, so enjoy your weekend, spin these new projects, and I’ll catch you the following Monday.
