Music Mondays with Fly KP: Cardi B, Khalid, Bryson Tiller, & Local Heat
Welcome back to Music Mondays with Fly KP, where I highlight the hottest new music and shine a light on local talent. This week is stacked with new drops you need to hear.
Cardi B – Imaginary Playerz
Cardi B is back with a brand-new single and video called “Imaginary Playerz.” What makes this release special is that she got the official blessing from Jay-Z himself. If you don’t know, Jay dropped the original Imaginary Players back in 1997 on his classic album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. Cardi put her own spin on the track, and she really did it justice. The video adds even more energy, making this one of her standout drops of the year.
Khalid – In Plain Sight
If you’re looking for a smooth, feel-good joint, Khalid just delivered. His new track, “In Plain Sight,” has that upbeat R&B summertime vibe that he’s known for. It’s the kind of song that fits perfectly on a late-night drive playlist or just vibin’ out on a chill evening. Simple, soulful, and effortlessly catchy.
Bryson Tiller – Solace & The Vices
Bryson Tiller has something big planned — a double-disc album titled Solace & The Vices. He’s already dropped the Vices half, and it’s nothing short of fire. The project is packed with the energy, melodies, and flows that fans have been waiting for. What’s even more exciting is that the Solace side is dropping soon on October 2nd. If Vices is any indication, Solace is about to be something special.
Local Artist Spotlight: Tony Wavy ft. Martia Gil & Radem Paris – Big Blue
Now for the Local Artist Spotlight. This week, it goes to Tony Wavy, featuring Martia Gill and Radem Paris. Their new track, “Big Blue,” comes with a video that really puts on for the city. They shot scenes at the Horse Park, at Legends Stadium, and even downtown, giving a full look at the LEX scene. The visuals are dope, the energy is high, and the hometown pride is front and center — definitely go check this one out.
Final Thoughts
That wraps it up for this week’s edition of Music Mondays with FlyKP. From Cardi putting a modern spin on Jay-Z’s classic, to Khalid’s summer groove, Bryson Tiller’s double-disc rollout, and Tony Wavey holding it down locally — there’s plenty of heat to add to your playlist.
